The Journey

Founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1982 by the Danish goldsmith Per Enevoldsen and his wife Winnie, Pandora has made an exceptional journey from a local Danish jeweller’s shop to the world’s biggest jewellery brand.

Starting with a single solid sterling silver ring, Pandora began manufacturing jewellery in Thailand in 1989, with only a handful of employees. In 2000, Pandora’s vision of developing a charm bracelet concept that women could style in personal ways to express unique moments and style became a reality with the brand’s signature charm bracelet, Moments.

In 2005, Pandora opened its first fully owned crafting facility in Gemopolis, Thailand, on the outskirts of Bangkok.

In 2017, we opened our second crafting facility in Lamphun, near Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. With Pandora’s focus on crafting jewellery responsibly, this state-of-the art crafting facility received a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification.

In 2018, a new LEED Gold-certified crafting facility, called Triple A, opened in Gemopolis; built to meet the increasing demand for high-quality jewellery and faster lead times.

Today, Pandora offers affordable, hand-finished jewellery made to the highest environmental and ethical standards. Sold through more than 7,700 points of sale and connecting with more than 15 million Facebook fans and a little over 13 million Pandora Club members, Pandora is the most recognised jewellery brand in the world.

The launch of Pandora Reflexions and new launches still under development will ensure that Pandora remains at the forefront of innovation and style for many years to come.
